Fujairah is geographically situated on the east coast of Unites Arab Emirates. Knanaites had made their presence in Fujairah since 1980. They used to have unofficial gatherings which consisted of members from Kanaya Catholics and Knanaya Jacobites who lived along Kalba,Fujairah,Khorfokan and Dibba. Fujairah is a calm, quiet and less crowded Emirate in UAE. Only a few Knanaya families were there in these areas till 2007. As a matter of blessing, there was a huge demand for nurses in the Ministry of Health Fujairah,. This huge demand caused for a great inflow of young batches of our community nurses into Fujairah. Thus the increase in the number of our community members had played a great role in the formation of KCC Fujairah Unit.

The unofficial gatherings after the Malayalam masses resulted in identifying the Knanaya families and thus thought over the idea of forming a KCC Unit. Mr. Jose Thomas had taken the first initiative to contact KCC UAE. Since Some of his relatives and friends, who were actively associated with KCC UAE coordination committee, his initiative helped us to form KCC FUJAIRAH in a successful and fruitful manner. The KCC UAE had taken a special interest to make our dream true, in the formation of KCC Fujairah Unit.

KCC Fujairah got officially inaugurated on Sunday, the 13th October 2013 at Fortune Royal Hotel Fujairah by Mr. Stephen Thomas Paradiyil, Chairman,KCC UAE, in the presence of almost all KCC UAE Executive members. During this meeting, an executive committee was formed to lead KCC Fujairah, as shown below.Mr. Jose Thomas Kothaladiyil -President,Mr Lijo John Thonikuzhiyil -Secretary,Mr Georgi Jose Chennattu -Treasurer,Mr. Anil Chacko-Fujairah coordinator to KCC UAE and Mrs. Sona Jose Kothaladiyil -Fujairah Entertainment coordinator to KCC UAE.The strength of KCC Fujairah was 13 families and few bachelors at the time of the formation of KCC Fujairah.

After the formation of KCC Fujairah, the scheduled monthly gatherings were conducted in every unit member’s residence alternatively, which used to have a prayer session, general discussion, Entertainment activities and fellowship meals. Other than the monthly meetings, KCC Fujairah started organizing special  gatherings on the occasion of Onam,Christmas ,New Year and annual outing for the all unit members.Currently, KCC Fujairah is consisting of 23 families and 5 bachelors with a total of more than100 members including children. . KCC Fujairah Executive committee gets elected once in a period of two years. The Executive Committee consists of President, Secretary, Treasurer and other Executives.
